With the retirement of Debbie in August 2026, we decided we would not necessarily hire another Customer Service Representative.

Instead, we asked the whole team to step up and ensure that no matter what role you have here, everything you do helps sales.

From our in-house designer and prepress to sales, customer service, production, and shipping, interfacing with customers is customer service.

As we focus on writing perfect dockets so everyone is on the same page, we can streamline our workflow, increase productivity, and pursue more medical/pharma print and packaging.

But we do so much more here at JP Graphics. Using our assets (print, facility, and people) to support Idyll Time Wines has made it clear who truly steps up and takes on any task, whether for JP Graphics, Idyll Time Wines, company events, or personal favors that prove everything is better with print. That person is Shalini Vijay, and she was selected Employee of the Month for August 2026.

Shalini began working for JP Graphics in June 2019. She had recently graduated from Mission College’s Design Department and, after a class tour here, reached out and asked if she could work with us. We hired her for in-house design, updating files, typesetting business cards, and managing the company online stores for fulfillment. She quickly proved she can do anything: smart, creative, and one of the sweetest people you will ever meet.

She was already handling so much of the typesetting for cards, updating files, and designing labels and other print needs for Idyll Time Wines that it was easy to see why she was chosen for August. She serves as the CSR for all cards and stationery work, managing jobs from design and layout through to production. Shalini truly does it all, and the comments from the managers show just how vital she is to the organization.

• “Shalini handles everything from beginning to end. She knows Excel and most programs better than I do and can typeset numerous cards flawlessly, taking them from PDF to print and even following up with the clients to make sure they received their projects.” ~ Dave

• “As I begin to do more of the setups for the Night Markets here for Idyll Time Wines, I can ask Shalini for signage or props or something that will just make the events more fun. She never cracks under pressure and never says no. She just does it.” ~ Joe
• “Shalini helps take the pressure off me by taking the smaller jobs off my plate so I can focus on the medical/pharma work that Joan wants us to pursue.” ~ Lupe
• “If we have a question on something, she will always help. And when I need something for the wine labels, boxes, anything, she takes care of it.” ~ Claudia
• “I took the customer list that Debbie was taking care of and divided it up so that if Shalini was already doing the work (design or typeset), I would have her be the CSR handling all the monthly business card dockets. Shalini handles all of the Kent Landsberg/Veritiv wine orders, and this is a lot. She will layout, proof, and get samples done for the crazy amount of wine business. But it is her help with Idyll Time Wines that has me in such awe of her abilities. Whether it is the pop-ups, helping all the vendors with any print needs they have, or our Annual Wine Celebration Event, I make a monthly docket and task her with design. Every Monday there is a list of things she has to get done, whether it is a personal party invitation or someone needing a memorial bookmark. She handles all the pressure with quick design and flawless spelling. She takes all my crazy ideas and makes them come out on print. She is truly one of the sweetest, most beautiful people I have ever met!” ~ Joan
