March was the beginning of the COVID Pandemic, and like many of the businesses we work with, we found ourselves having to change course. JP Graphics was fortunate to stay open as a printer for essential businesses, but our sales were dramatically reduced.
While Joan worked on obtaining PPP funds from the SBA, our teams were busy organizing and streamlining processes. It was Mark Stoval who truly stepped up during this time!
Mark has been with JP Graphics since November of 2014, and his primary function was to run our 2 Color Ryobi press as a Master Craftsman.
As we shifted gears, Mark set out to help in any way he could. He reorganized the docket filing system to make it neat and orderly. He also helped Joe with the plate storage area, cleaning out obsolescent plates and making room for future projects.
Mark also began to cross train and help on various other equipment. With his attention to detail as a craftsman, he easily picked up and mastered:
- Our paper laminators
- Gumming plates to be reused on the larger presses
- Registration and detail for Foil/Embossing and Letterpress
- Our Xante’ corrugated box printer.
Knowing the struggles of the print industry in general, Mark even offered to work without pay and help if we needed him to do that too!
Mark sets the standard for an exceptional JP Graphics employee. He is always willing to assist in whatever needs to be done. Mark stands out with his calm voice, smile, and a helping hand. We are lucky and grateful to have him on our team.
