2023 marked the hardest period we’ve faced in our history as a company. It wasn’t easy, but we persevered.
In 2024, we took a major step forward by completing the purchase/lease of the HP 12000. This equipment paired with the addition of our mailing department symbolizes our commitment to print innovation and our goal of clearing remaining pandemic related debts.
So, with only the Xerox Iridesse left as equipment payable, and various SBA EIDL and Lines of Credits. The task of getting back to net 30 fell on the capable shoulders of our Employee of the Month, Michelle Del Rey.
Michelle handles ALL the fundamental duties of our professional corporation, including Payroll and all Human Resources, Invoicing/Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, Office Management, and generally keeping up on the JP “Family”. She makes sure to recognize birthdays and years of service for all 40 of our team members.
This is no easy task as the pressure of cash flow is not made for the timid. Michelle has streamlined operations by meticulously organizing payables, reconciling invoices, and setting timely reminders in QuickBooks. Handling overdue payments with diplomacy has become second nature to her. Every Friday, she scans and sends invoices, ensuring nothing slips through the cracks.
Her dedication to these tasks ensures smooth financial operations, even in difficult times, and is the reason she was selected as our EOM for March. The comments from the managers, really tell it all:
- “I have to focus on Sales, and Michelle has been my right hand. I call her the “Mama Bear” as she runs the House of JP like a well-oiled machine. Coordinating everything from Employee Birthday Cards and recognition of Years of Service, to Accounts Payable. She runs to the bank and has the answers about cash flow ready so we can make decisions. Michelle understands the importance of confidentiality, which is the utmost importance with an organization of this size, and she gets things done! I can text or e-mail her to get the answers I need. I am truly able to deal with the BIG Picture, as she takes care of the low hanging fruit.” ~ Joan
- “Michelle does everything right away. When I ask for supplies’ batteries, tapes, anything, she gets for me. She always has the cards for the Birthdays ready for me and makes me look like a great manager.” ~ Dave
- “Michelle, keeps everyone happy with candy. It’s always stocked up front, so customers that come in can grab something. The mailman or whoever.” ~ Debbie
- “Michelle helps all the Bindery Employees with their questions on insurance and 401K.” ~ Claudia
- “Michelle is very nice.” ~ Norbi
- “We can leave things up front for people to pick-up and she helps customers find them, so we can continue on with shipments or production issues.” ~ Miguel/Joe
Thank you, Michelle, for your unwavering commitment and excellence.
