Our Employee of the Month for August was, Rosa Tatay, who started to work at JP Graphics in April 2021. Originally in bindery, Rosa helped as we began to delve more into the mailing. It was just unfortunate that after receiving the acknowledgement, Rosa had to leave for both transportation and financial reasons. She is still in the printing business with one of our friendly owners, as her husband is a pressman at another printer.
We have left the door open for Rosa if she wants to return, and for sure a place at our Epic Holiday parties.
So today, we thought we would take this time to acknowledge the MANY employees who had a hand in the Idyll Time Wines Release Party. As we show that EVERYTHING IS BETTER WITH PRINT – including wine!!
I was in Atlanta last week at Printing Untied, and so EVERYONE at JP Graphics pitched in and helped out! From delivery driver pick-ups of Petit Pot for our Friday sweet treats to all of the machines operators who made sure the print products were produced in time for the release party.
The list below is long, but truly highlights what it takes to make an event come to life. Thank you to:
- Suzi (Suzi Worley Studios) who didn’t just dip her toes into this year’s ocean theme, she dove in head-first. From print and digital marketing to presentations, social media, and ticketing, she managed it all. Her ocean-themed print products, flags, and banners truly brought waves of creativity to the event, and the lighted umbrellas, re-useable stemware, and jellyfish lanterns she sourced were a huge hit! Suzi curated the unique selection of local vendors for our pop-up ‘marketplace’, complete with a map and coins to encourage interactions. She even flew in from Texas to handle last-minute logistics and was an integral part of the event’s success.
- Inprintz – Pauly Duong and Dave Cheng for the amazing last-minute large format printing on the parking and check-in signs, gorgeous banner and 2-sided a-frame signs. (shown below)
- Mai for printing extra totes and all of the air fresheners when I had a last-minute inspiration, that we needed ocean themed ones.
- Marcelle and her twins for helping the week before organizing the store and conference room, building jellyfish lanterns, blowing up the beach-balls, unpacking all of the boxes of decorations and umbrellas, and putting up my new label filing system.
- Mark for printing the corrugated wine boxes and helping with the custom vendor wine labels.
- Michelle for putting together the raffle gift baskets and candy boxes, and the last-minute run for supplies.
- Miguel for all of the help with set-up and logistics, and even assisting with the Etsy Store booth!
- Claudia for all her help in the store, labeling wine, and keeping it organized, putting together boxes and cupcake holders, entering orders, and bringing her son, Adrian, to help man the store and ring up sales.
- Jacob for managing the check-ins, helping with logistics, and the banner and jellyfish lantern displays.
- Freddy Alkakos owner of Milpitas Restaurant Equipment for the table and chair set-up, the refrigeration units, pumpkin distribution, and use of his karaoke machine.
- Shalini in pre-press for processing any in-house prints, manning the Idyll Time Gifts Etsy store on both days and promoting her digital foil candy boxes.
- There really are too many to list, from Debbie’s help hanging signs and holding the “fort” while I was gone, to Bill’s ordering a last-minute tent for a pop-up vendor, to Joe’s donation of lights and illumination, Mary’s help printing files, Pete’s management of the Zünd digital cutter for the maps…
- I couldn’t leave out my boys and their wives and future wives for their help with pouring and the heavy lifting, especially the teardown on Saturday when everyone was so exhausted.
- And of course, the youngest JP Graphics member, my granddaughter Colbie, for making an appearance, donating some fun pumpkins and gourds from her pumpkin patch, and helping her mom, Alexia, at the Idyll Time Designs booth.
The party was a great success thanks to the JP Graphics team, and we couldn’t be prouder of how they showcased the power of print (and wine)! Let’s raise our glass to these standout stars! Cheers!
